This project was started by Zondelia Lombard-Swartz in 2014 while she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. She sourced toiletries lovingly donated by friends and family, packaged it in pink boxes and bags and distributed it to breast cancer patients at Tygerberg Hospital. In celebrating the 6th year of this project, and in memory of Zonny who lost her fight to breast cancer on 8/09/2019, we would like to call on your support to enable us to extend the distribution of love boxes to include breast cancer patients at both Tygerberg & Paarl Hospitals
This year we’re doing things a bit differently …
In Zonny’s memory:
We will be donating Love Boxes to the breast cancer clinic and wards at Tygerberg Hospital & Paarl Hospital. We are hosting a range of virtual events to raise funds for the Tygerberg Hospital Breast Cancer Clinic & Cancer Ward
Our Ambassador is Rene Brown. Here is her story:
So, I turned a half century the other day…thinking it’s all downhill from here, time to roll over and play dead… I don’t think so! Surely, I wasn’t placed on this earth only to consume oxygen, have kids and die. I still have loads of voema to make a difference…and besides don’t let this body fool you 😊. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, I have decided to run the Sanlam virtual marathon to support the Tygerberg Hospital Breast Cancer Clinic and Cancer Ward with much needed funds and to honour the life and memory of Zondelia. Zonny was a huge supporter of the clinic and the champion of the Love Box Project. Please support this initiative by contributing so we can continue to fight the fight for those in need. We can all make a difference however small!
